Stippling on a Bigleaf Maple Leaf

The stippling is complete on my next leaf, a Bigleaf Maple. It is very easy for me to get caught up in all the stippling. I know that I will be adding color on top of this so I don't have to be too exact, but it is tempting to just keep on adding more and more dots!

Forsythia Leaves

Forsythia leaves in the fall. For years I only thought of the bright yellow flowers that forsythia put out, one of the earliest flowers in spring. Then I moved and have forsythia outside my front door. I have learned about the fabulous color display they have in the fall.

An Oak Leaf

I wanted to sketch and draw some fall leaves but they were drying too quickly before I was to draw them. But the curling leaves make for an interesting challenge. Here is an oak leaf. The shadows really help to make the leaf appear 3D.

It's that time of year for all the brightly colored leaves. Each one is beautiful. It's much too easy to collect way more leaves than I can possibly draw!

Wires, wires and more wires

It's hard not to be impressed at the number of wires around this entryway. And it's hard to believe it all works. What I am curious about is what happens when something needs to be fixed. This is from Habana Vieja, Cuba.

A Drawing for Inktober

Here's the horse that graciously allowed me to ride her on an excursion to see a waterfall near Trinidad, Cuba. This is a drawing for Inktober, a challenge to draw an ink picture everyday in October and then post online to share. Adding other media is okay. There are daily prompts to follow or not. I chose to work from travel pictures. Right now I'm working from my Cuba photos.

A Fruit Seller

Fruit and vegetables are often sold in Havana off of bicycle carts similar to these. The sellers seem to have their regular spots as well. On different days and on different trips, I would spot the same people in the same spots. The fruit here looked gorgeous!
